has over 20 years of experience in the medical field. She is a highly accomplished and compassionate Obstetrician and Gynaecologist as well as a subspecialist in Maternal Fetal Medicine. She earned her medical degree (Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery, MBBS) as well as the Doctor of Medicine (DM) in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the University of the West Indies (UWI) in Kingston, Jamaica. Due to her passion for Obstetrics and maternal care, she then pursued and completed a fellowship in Maternal Fetal Medicine at the University of Toronto, Canada.
Dedicated to empowering women through all stages of life, Dr. Hunter specializes in prenatal care, high-risk pregnancy management, gynaecologic surgery, infertility investigations, and routine well-woman exams. Since completion of fellowship, Dr. Hunter has been managing and consulting on maternal and fetal disorders of pregnancy. Her areas of expertise include fetal ultrasound, prenatal diagnosis, genetic screening, multiple gestations (twins, triplets), preterm birth prevention, maternal medical conditions of pregnancy (cardiac disease, hypertension, autoimmune disorders) as well as fetal growth concerns.
Dr. Hunter’s commitment to continued learning and teaching is evidenced by her multiple publications in peer-reviewed journals such as American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, International Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology on topics including lupus in pregnancy, cardiac disease in pregnancy and multiple pregnancy.
Her current full-time role that of consultant and lecturer in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the UWI, Mona Campus in Kingston, Jamaica. She is the founder and director of Obstetrics Plus Limited where she is committed to providing a professional and calming environment for women and families to receive care.
